Theo Staggs, 87, of Paragould, died Friday, May 15, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Oct. 1, 1927, in Rombauer, Mo., he was the son of the late Lee Washington and Ivy Pearl Moore Staggs and was raised in the Leachville area. He owned and operated Staggs Auto Sales in Arbyrd for over 40 years. At the age of 15 he hitchhiked to St. Louis with a tow bar on his back and purchased two cars for resale. He loved hunting and fishing but mostly enjoyed making a living for his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lou Richardson Staggs; one son, Jerry Junior Staggs; four brothers, Elmer Staggs, Arlee Staggs, Earl Staggs and Lawrence Staggs; and a sister, Ivy Lee Langston.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Renee Staggs

Earl and Betty Staggs, all of Paragould; one daughter, Norma Louise Staggs of Paragould; six grandchildren, Chris Staggs and wife Candace, Gretchen Newberry and husband Eric, Sam Staggs, Lindsay Friederich, Joshua Staggs and Cheyanna Staggs. He also leaves four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Bud Evans of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include John Lindsey, Sam Staggs, Chris Staggs, Josh Staggs, Danny Jernigan and Theron Newberry.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
