Alpha Rose Reynolds Hensley

Alpha Rose Reynolds Hensley, 80 of Caraway, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015. She was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Albion to the late Clarence "Dike" and Eula Davis Reynolds. Mrs. Hensley was retired from Basler Electric Company after 20 years of service. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife and mother. She loved having all the kids and grandkids over for holidays and Sundays for cooking and family time. It brought her so much joy and happiness to help raise all her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be remembered as a loving mother who taught her family how to love and was of the Baptist belief.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Hensley; a sister, Emma Nette Harris; two brothers, Bill Reynolds and Lennis Reynolds.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Barrett of Caraway and Terri Pearson of Lake City; a son, Keith Hensley and wife Paula of Caraway; two sisters, Peggy Oldham and Sharon Birmingham, both of Batesville; seven grandchildren, Paul Barrett, Laura Smith, Amy Baker, Leah Brown, Lyndsey Pearson, Mitchell Hensley and Ben Hensley; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Andy Price officiating. Burial followed at Caraway Cemetery.

The family received friends from noon until time of service Monday at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Nick Baker, Shawn Smith, Dennis Gomez, Kevin Killett, Keith Hensley and Mitchell Hensley. Honorary pallbearers were Benjamin Hensley, Paul Barrett and David Harris.
