Walter J. Briley

Walter J. Briley, 78, of Manila, passed away April 16, 2015, at his home. Born Sept. 28, 1936, in Manila, he was the son of the late Talmadge Eugene and Pauline Emily Wortham Briley and had been a longtime area resident. He was a United States Army veteran, owned Briley's Body Shop in Manila and enjoyed woodworking and making duck calls.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Camp Briley of the home; one son, R.N. Briley of Manila; one sister, Kay Webb of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chad Keller, Autumn Briley and Dustin Walter Briley, all of Manila; one great-grandson, Braden Sharp. Mr. Briley also leaves a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Keller; a brother, Buddie Briley: two sisters, Joan Thomas and Barbara Hatley.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Faith Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Bro. John Wayne Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.

The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the funeral home.
