Friday, March 13, 2015

Mr. Larry Maupin, 55, of Blytheville, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born one of 11 children to Richard and Mary Lou Riddle Maupin in Blytheville, he was a lifelong resident and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Larry was employed by Schueck Steel as a safety supervisor until becoming disabled. Larry also served several years as a Blytheville police officer and was a devoted Razorback football fan. He also loved to travel, as his job would take him too many places. Foremost in Larry's life was his love for family. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with each one and loved the times when they all could gather together. As a large family, he knew that they would be there for him in any need, but Larry also shared a very special bond as being born a triplet with Jerry and Gearldine Maupin.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his triplet sister, Gearldine Maupin; a sister, Patricia Maupin; and a brother, Gary Maupin.

Larry is survived by his son, Richard Maupin and wife Tatiana;

His grandchildren, Mark Stevens, Isaiah Stevens and Anna Stevens, all of Washington, D.C.;

His siblings, Wesley Maupin and wife Charlyne of Blytheville, Mack Maupin and wife Sherry of Wilson, Susie Knight and husband Forrest of Blytheville, Billy Maupin and wife Carol of Joiner, Jerry Maupin of Blytheville, George Maupin and wife Poala of Blytheville, Ricky Maupin and wife Bobbie of Osceola; and

A host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 Monday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 a.m. Monday, also at Cobb Funeral Home. Larry will be laid to rest in Dogwood Cemetery beside his sister Gearldine.
