Wayva Joy Hollis, 86, of Leachville, passed from this life Sunday, March 8, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Senath, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Mildred Lewis Ross and was a 1947 graduate of Senath High School. Following high school, she married James Paul Hollis and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage before his death in 2010. She had lived in the Leachville, Arbyrd and Paragould areas, and following her retirement from the Ely Walker Company, she returned to Leachville where she was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Ross; one sister, Barbara Cole; one grandson; and two great-granddaughters.

She is survived by two daughters, Tamara Rose and her husband Hugh Wayne of Leachville and Mary Higgs and her husband Steve of Paragould;

Two sisters, Louise Watson of Senath and Zaida Cagle of Leachville; and

Six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in Dunklin County Memorial Gardens in Kennett.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Rose, Jeffery Rose, Scott Rose, Jerry Higgs, Nicholas Cagle and Billy Marsh.
