Leslie Earl Curtis

Leslie Earl Curtis, 82, of Monette, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born and raised in Waverly, Tenn., he was the son of the late James and Mary George Curtis and had been a Monette resident since 2001. He was a retired taxi cab driver, and was of the Assembly of God faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Curtis, two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Curtis of Monette; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Carla Curtis of Magazine; one daughter, Barbara O'kane and husband, Larry, of Jacksonville; one stepson, Gary Neal of Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Janie Mays and husband Robert, of Dover and Charlene Mangrum and husband, Dwight, of Leachville; one sister; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Mangrum, Roger Ramsey, William Walrath, Adam Carpenter, Keith Cook and Jerry Neal.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
