Myrtle Taylor Thomas

Myrtle Taylor Thomas, 79, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015.

She was born March 24, 1935, on Bunny Road near Caraway to the late Clarence and Margie Taylor. Myrtle attended Caraway High School, where she met and married her husband, James L. "Coach" Thomas in 1951. She was an Extension Homemaker member for many years and a 4-H leader for 19 years. She was the Arkansas State Farm Bureau "Sew with Cotton Sweepstakes Winner" twice and also placed several times in categories. She was the altar flower chairman at Armorel Baptist Church for 10 years, church hostess for several years and involved in the Banner Ministry for six years.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. "Coach" Thomas; and five brothers, Calvin Ray, Lavoy, Gene, Dalton and A. R. Taylor.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Thomas of Blytheville and Don Thomas of Armorel.

Funeral services were Monday at Armorel Baptist Church, with burial at Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette. Visitation preceded ther service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Armorel School Scholarship Fund.
