EPC's P.J. Lacy drives to the hoop Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 as Gosnell's Brad Lawrence defends. In the other photo, Gosnell's Jermey Parnell throws down one of his four fourth-quarter dunks against EPC. The Warriors wrapped up the loaded 3AAA-South title that night with a 74-52 win. The game featured two future Division I players -- Parnell, who would play at Ole Miss, and Marcus Monk, who went to Arkansas. Parnell is currently playing with the Dallas Cowboys. Parnell had 20 points, while Monk finished with 21 in the key matchup. The tough conference prepared both clubs for a postseason run. Then Gosnell head coach Len Whitehead guided his club to the state semifinals that season, before falling to conference and county rival Osceola. The league had three of the four state semifinalist and the state champion and runner-up. Monk and EPC knocked off Osceola, 78-45, in the state title game at Alltell Arena in North Little Rock.
