Aileen C. "Meme" Brothers

Aileen C. "Meme" Brothers, 87, a lifelong resident of Mississippi County, died Sunday, Dec, 7, 2014.

Aileen was born on Feb. 10, 1927, near Manila, the daughter of Ben F. Campbell and Lena Walker Campbell.

Aileen was employed as a public servant for 27 years at the Farm Service Agency. At the time of her service, it was known as the ASCS, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. She had been retired since 1979. She was a member of the American Associates of County Office Employees, as well as the Blytheville Woman's Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She took a very important step in the fight to save America's babies by becoming a volunteer for the March of Dimes Mothers March, where she served several years. She was also a volunteer at the Baptist Memorial Hospital and a homemaker.

She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church since 1953.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Leon Brothers, of Blytheville; and her brother, John Thomas Campbell of Kokomo, Indiana.

She leaves her husband, Leon Brothers of the home;

Her sister, Vivian Morrow of Phelan, California;

Two granddaughters, Traci Brothers McDoniel and husband Colin of Memphis and Amy Brothers Riston of Blytheville;

One great-grandson, Kiefer Brothers Stallings; and one great-granddaughter, Danni Lynn Riston, both of Blytheville; and

A host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Carney officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Brothers requested that memorials be made to New Liberty Baptist Church (2804 N. Highway 61, Blytheville, AR 72315), March of Dimes Mothers March, The American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Arthritis Foundation.
