Clyde Stokes Raper

Clyde Stokes Raper, 79, of Blytheville, passed away from this life on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014.

The son of the late William and Sula Mae (Harper) Raper, Clyde was a self-employed painter, and as his family stated, "He painted this whole town." He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Woodland Corner Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for over 30 years. He was the greatest father and never looked down on anyone, always looking for the good in everyone. Clyde lived and breathed the Bible. He loved his pastor, his kids and his grandchildren.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Mauren (Macken ) Raper; four brothers, Alfred Raper, Lee Raper, Paul Raper and Jack Raper; and two sisters, Jewell McCary and Ola Mae Lindsay.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Raper of Osceola, Stephan Raper of Water Valley, Mississippi, and Joey Raper of Little Rock;

One daughter, Kelly Ann Davis and husband Wesley of Blytheville; and

Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home. Services will follow the visitation at 11:30 at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
