Gene Craig, 77, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Malden, Mo., to the late William Russell and Ruby Rosetta Bush Craig. He was a route salesman and supervisor for Pepsi from 1955 until 1998. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. Gene was a member of the Macey Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janis Craig; three sons, Mickey Craig and wife Joanne of Hillsdale, Mich., Tom Craig and Ronnie Bruce and wife Karen, all of Monette; a brother and his wife, Bill and Linda Craig of Lake City; two sisters and their husbands, Kaye and Wayne Ray of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Raye and Ted Finley of Monette; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; adopted family, Larry Davis, Kim Davis, Dustin Davis, Katie Davis, Bridget Davis, Brittney Adams (Tony), Brett Turner and Tim Childers; his dog, Fluffy, and cat, Sally Girl, and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Gathright Craig, and a brother, Gary Craig.

A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Caleb Bruce, Rusty Craig, Tim Childers, Dustin Davis, Wade Gathright, Pee Wee Gathright, Jackie Wayne Gathright and Dennis Gathright.

Lasting memorials may be sent to Monette United Methodist Church, Arkansas Children's Hospital or Monette First Baptist Church.
