Reynaldo Cerda Barajas

Reynaldo Cerda Barajas, 70, of Leachville, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born in Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria De Jesus Cerda Barajas and had lived most of his life in Harlingen, Texas. He had been a Leachville resident since 1990 and was a retired cotton ginner for Adams Land Company. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blytheville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jose Antonio Barajas, and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Cruz Barajas of the home;

Three sons, Reynaldo Barajas Jr. (Sylvia) of Harlingen, Texas, George Barajas (Charlotte) of Leachville and Johnny Barajas (Tammy) of Leachville;

Four daughters, Janie Ibanez (Clayton) of Leachville, Isabel Barajas of Leachville, Josie Valencia (Jaime) of Paragould and Missy Gallardo (Jorge) of Cardwell, Missouri;

Five brothers, Alberto Barajas, Andres Barajas, Juan Jose Barajas, Ruben Barajas and Raul Barajas;

Two sisters, Graciela Rodriguez and Maria Elena Benavidez; and

25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Father Felix Chirapurathel officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.
