Mearl Lee McCormick, 70, of Caraway died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Rivervale she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Opal Nelson Moore and had been a lifelong area resident. She retired from American Greetings in Osceola after 33 years of service and was a member of Milligan Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll Wesley Moore and Thomas G. Moore.

Survivors include her husband, Burl McCormick of Caraway; two sons, Derek Thomas McCormick and wife Pat of Lake City and Gregory Todd McCormick and wife Latonya of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Bobby Gene Moore and her twin brother, Earl Lee Moore both, of Manila; one sister, Barbara Mae Moore of Manila; four grandchildren, Jessica Lynn McCormick, Daniel Thomas McCormick, Heather Leigh Nicole Revels and Dallas Gregory McCormick; and one great-grandson, Ethan Cash Revels.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Glen Hoselton officiating. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Johnny McCormick, Tony McCormick, Daniel McCormick, Dallas McCormick, Jim Penny, Jerry Stokes and Brandon Bollinger.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Leachville.
