Robert Lee "Butch" Barber

Robert Lee "Butch" Barber, 68 of Leachville, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Hamburg, Ark. Born at Mt. Ida, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Gladys Scott Barber and had been a Leachville resident for the past 50 years. He was a long-time City of Leachville employee and member of Assembly of God Church. Mr. Barber loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lawrence Barber of the home; two sons, Bryan Barber and wife Jennifer of Austin, and Wayne Barber of Gentry; a daughter, Janet James of Gentry; four brothers, Loyd Barber of Gosnell, Don Barber of Lepanto, Leo Barber of Tyronza, and Terry Barber of Dyess; four sisters, Norma Turman of Salem, Sharon Wilkey of Salem, Carolyn Wells of Texarkana, Texas, and Connie Nichols of Tyronza; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and his beloved beagle, 'Little Lady."

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home.
