James Curtis Sharp, 88, of Manila passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. Born in Oakwood, Mo., he was the son of the late Oran F. and Ery Steele Sharp and had been a longtime resident of Sunnyvale, Calif., before making his home in Manila in 1991. He was a 1944 graduate of Hannibal High School, a U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division WWII veteran and a self employed brick mason.

He is survived by one son, James C. Sharp, III, and wife Cynthia of Manila; two daughters, Billie Sue Misner, and husband Ray of Manila, and Jane Ann Bobroff, and husband Ric of Durham, N.C.; one brother, Oran Sharp of Hannibal, Mo. He also leaves five grandsons, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.Interment was private.
