Dale Chrisman, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 27, 1940, in Monette to the late Leon and Velma Gauf Chrisman.

He was a 1958 graduate of Childress High School and 1962 Arkansas State University graduate with a BSE in math. Dale was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, and past member of Jonesboro Lions Club. He worked for Gregg Funeral Home and Burial Association for almost 20 years. After his father died, he joined his brother in continuing the family trucking business, Chrisman Trucking. His favorite pastime and hobby was talking about and collecting antique cars. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Ray Chrisman; two sons and their wives, Stan and Maia Chrisman of Maryville, Tenn., and Eric and Marie Chrisman of Marion; five grandchildren, Jon, Seth, Abby, Max and Nick Chrisman; a brother and his wife, Fred and Joyce Chrisman of Tupelo, Miss.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arliss Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles C. Johnson, Roy Sherman, Jimmy Cooper, Dr. Jack McKee, Jerry Clark and Bill Beasley and as honorary pallbearers, Marvin and Mary Hagaman, Florence Cooper, Frank Smithee, Arthur Wallace, Department 8 Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and members of the Childress High School Class of 1958.
