Richard Dennis "Denny" Byrum, 81, of Blytheville, passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 28, 2014, at home.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1933, in Blytheville, to Paul R. Byrum and Myrtle C. Freeman Byrum. He graduated from Blytheville High School. He was a longtime Blytheville merchant, selling farm implements, garden seed and plants, sporting goods, nursery and landscaping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Freeman Byrum; a daughter, Margaret Katrina Byrum; and his ex-wife, Sondra Lunsford.

He is survived by his three sons, Richard (Amber) Byrum and Mark Beaird of Mountain Home, and Danny (Lyndi) Moore of Blytheville;

Two daughters, Denice Byrum (Thor) Capehart of Blytheville and Damona Byrum (Kevin) Hawks of South Carolina;

An ex-wife, Joyce Miller Pate of Mountain Home;

Six grandchildren, Cade (Mallory) Darby, PT Capehart, Amber Capehart, Garrett Hawks, JD Duke and Walker Byrum;

Three great-grandchildren, Macy, Jake and Cody Darby;

Longtime dear friends and caregivers, Bonnie Baker and Jim Shaw; and

A host of other friends and relatives.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Elmwood Cemetery, with Dr. Tommy Carney officiating. Visitation will be noon-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Carney Funeral Home Chapel.
