Linda Ruth Powell

Linda Ruth Powell, 65, of Manila died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born at Leachville she was the daughter of the late Henry and Carrie Lovelace Shipley and had been a longtime resident of Gary, Ind., before making her home in Manila 13 years ago.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Shipley, and one sister, Cathy Trosper.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Powell of Manila; one brother, Charles Shipley of Manila. She also leaves her nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

The family has requested services to be private and no visitation is planned.
