Jack D. Robbins

Jack D. Robbins, 75, of Iowa, La., passed from this life Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Welsh, La.

Born in Cincinnati, Iowa, to Albert Ashley and Mildred Maxine (Besse) Robbins, he was a Pit Boss for Harrah's Casino. Jack was of the Lutheran Faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, football and his favorite eating at Dairy Queen.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Robbins; his parents; two children, John Daniel and Wendi Robbins; a sister, Karen Robbins and a brother, Jimmie Robbins.

Jack was survived by his children, Debbie Sue Hooper and Gail Ann Wright of Mesa, Ariz., Glenn Ray Wright of Iowa, La., Jacqueline Deanine Harper and her husband Eric of Florence, Ariz., Jerome Derek Robbins and Jason Darrell Robbins of Iowa, La.;

His sisters, Alberta Clinkenbeard of Belvedere, Ill., Mavis Houchouse of Mesa, Ariz., Dixie Arnold of Henderson, Tenn., and Sherry Blade of Rockford, Ill.;

A brother, Dickie Ray Robbins of Bradenton, Fla.; and

Thirty grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Elmwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
