Amos 'Stick' Carpenter Jr.

Mr. Amos "Stick" Carpenter Jr., died Wednesday at South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center in Osceola.

Born May 20, 1950, to the late Amos Carpenter Sr., and Annie Selvy Carpenter, he worked in maintenance and was a member of Miracle Temple COGIC in Luxora.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rosie Alexander and Linda Carpenter, and three brothers, Johnny Carpenter, Charles Carpenter and Tommy Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter leaves his wife, Geraldine Carpenter of Osceola;

Two daughters, Darline Carpenter and Valerie Denise Carpenter, both of Little Rock;

One son, Richard Lee Carpenter of Little Rock;

Three sisters, Gertrude Hawkins, Bessie Fultz and Mary Williams, all of Chicago, Ill.; and

One grandchild, Vivica Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with pastor Elder Michael Hooks Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. The family will receive visitors from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
