Glenville J. Nettles

Glenville J. Nettles, 71, of Monette, passed away at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro on Friday, May 2, 2014. Glenville was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Monette to the late Glen and Imogene Caldwell Nettles.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Ross Nettles of the home; two sons, Michael and Leisa Nettles and Bobby and Patti Nettles, both of Monette; one brother, Jimmy and Donna Nettles of Gideon , Mo.; sisters-in-law, Pat Nettles of Arnold Mo., Dee Ross of Havana Ill., Dorothy Scott of Brooklyn, Gladys Crawford of Searcy, Pauline and Neal Mouser of Leachville; brothers-in-law, J.W. and Patsy Ross of Alabama and Joe Cagle of Leachville; three grandsons, Josh and Kim Blocker of Keiser, Lance Nettles of Armorel and Adam and Savanna Parker of Cave City; two granddaughters, Jessica and John Harvey of Leachville, and Brooke Nettles of Monette; eight great-grandchildren, Riley Parker, Sophia Harvey, Lydia Harvey, Carson Parker, Cayden Parker, Anna Harvey, Landon Parker and Alex Blocker; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Glenville was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Lewis and Birdie Clayton Nettles and Jim and Ora Smith Caldwell, one brother, Reylon Nettles, brothers-in-law, Marion Ross, Gene Crawford and Millard Scott, and one sister-in-law, Margie Cagle.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Monette and he retired as a licensed journeyman plumber. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Dale Wikowsky, Mark Nettles, Mark Pepper, Shawn Perrin, Dale Wells and James Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were the men from Church of Christ, Monette.

A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Josh Parnell officiating. Interment followed in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home from noon until service time Monday.
