Marico Angela "Tweety" Brooks

Ms. Marico Angela "Tweety" Brooks, 36, Blytheville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Blytheville and was a lifelong resident. She accepted Christ as a child at True Light Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Young Adult Choir and served as corresponding secretary of the Visitors Ministry. Later, she joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served as an usher and sang in the choir.

Marico was a 1996 graduate of Blytheville High School. She received a degree in Office Management from Cotton Boll Technical School and a career diploma as a Physical Therapy Aide from Penn Foster Career School. She was employed a as a pharmacy technician at Wal-Mart Pharmacy.

Her father, Joe Willie Brooks, who gave her her name "Tweety," preceded her in death in September of 2013. Her grandparents, Bonnie and Mildred Bedford, Howard, Henry and Elizabeth Lee Brooks preceded her in death also.

Survivors are her loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Deborah Brooks of the home;

One brother, Judge Dewayne (and Telida) Parker of Atlanta;

One sister, Ms. Tawanda Brooks of Charlotte;

A nephew and niece, Christopher and Ariel Parker; and

Aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Chruch, 1630 West St., Blytheville. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the church with the Rev. Johnnie E. Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. McDonald-Horne Funeral Home of Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.
