Betty Holland Peel

Betty Holland Peel, of Arlington, Texas passed from this life Tuesday, April 8, 2014, just prior to her 83rd birthday at the Springs Memory Care in Mansfield, Texas.

Born in Blytheville to Aaron Benton Holland and Lillie Holifield Holland, she was a graduate of Blytheville High School and a faithful employee of General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) for almost 40 years. After retirement, Betty lived in Little Rock until 2011 when she moved to Arlington, Texas, to be with her son, Phillip, and his family.

Betty loved music and was very talented at playing the violin, piano and organ. For several years she used her God-given talents to play the organ for Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church. Betty also had a special love for animals and was a devoted supporter of the Humane Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Hill and Margaret Sargent.

Betty is survived by her son, Phillip Peel, and his wife, Jennifer, and her grandchildren, Lauren Peel and Christopher Peel of Arlington, Texas.

A memorial service to remember and honor her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mike Wey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Humane Society.
