Jonesboro -- Patsy Virginia Schmidt, 75, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born June 19, 1938, in Manila to the late Virgil and Edith Cornish. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and bowling and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her home was open to everyone.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Wright of Jonesboro and Richard Wright and wife Holly of Reno, Nev.; two brothers, J. C. Cornish of Cave City and Leon Cornish of Jonesboro; a sister, Peggy Lloyd of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Schmidt, and a sister, Irene Woodward.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Bishop Cemetery with Rev. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Avenue in Jonesboro.

Lasting memorials may be sent to the charity of donor's choice.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Cornish, John Cornish, Phillip Cornish, Mark Cornish, Brian Cornish, Jim Wright and Scott McGaughlin.
