Earnest Gary Jiles, 60, of Blytheville, passed away Friday evening at home. He was born on April 4, 1953, in Blytheville, to his parents, Jimmie and Suvella Miller Jiles. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He worked in the fencing industry for years before going into business with his father-in-law. He had been co-owner, with his father-in-law and then with his brother-in-law, of Earl's Seamless Gutter & Fencing for more than 30 years.

He liked to cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows on TV. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and listening to the scanner. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed imitating John Wayne. His favorite hobby was following the sport of NASCAR. He was a big fan of Kevin Harvick

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Jiles, of Blytheville;

One sister, Glenda Atkinson of Gosnell;

His nieces and nephews, Daniel Atkinson of Blytheville, Melinda Spillman of Mississippi, Joe Roemen of Colorado Springs Colo., Bob Roemen of Hanover, Minn., Angela Roemen and Scott Hoffman of Minnesota, and Jeremy Slaughter and Justin Slaughter, both of Blytheville;

His cousin, Neely Riggs;

His father and mother-in-law, Martha and Earl Tubbs;

Two sisters-in-law, Joan and Jessie Slaughter of Blytheville, and Carol and Roger Roemen of Gosnell; and

His best friend and NASCAR buddy, Jackie Lewis of Blytheville.

He loved his cats and dogs. His special pet is poodle Cocco.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gosnell Baptist Church, with Dr. Eddie Clemons officiating. Carney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be offered at www.carneyfuneralhome.com.
