Mrs. Joyce Jackson, 70, of Leachville, former longtime Manila resident, the widow of Henry Wesley Jackson, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born in Dugginsville, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Willis and Parazee Smothers Merriman and had attended Monette High School before making her home in Manila. She had been a Leachville resident since 2010 and was a member of the Assembly of God Faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell Merriman, Guy Merriman, Joe Merriman and George Merriman; two sisters, Totsi Merriman and Mary Alice Layton; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Chuck Jackson and James Jackson, both of Jonesboro;

Two daughters, Sherry Farrar and Susan Riley, both of Leachville;

One brother, Silas Merriman of Judsonia, Ark.;

A sister, Erma Lee Jackson of Leachville; and

Five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014m in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. The family will receive visitors from noon until service time Tuesday.
