Marguriet Estell Carter, 87, of Manila entered into rest on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in Manila. Born Friday, Jan. 28, 1927, in Dyersburg, Tenn., to the late Arthur and Kitty (Wells) Moore, she was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Manila and a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Martha Crowe of New Site, Miss., Kitty Bunch of Manila and Donna Hiser of Lake City; five sons, Arthur Carter, Ricky Carter, Paul Carter, Donald Carter and Joe Carter, all of Manila; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Dunkin of Malden, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bennie Carter, her son, Vernon Carter, her sister, Dorothy Moss, and her brother, Prentiss Moore.

Visitation began at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at First United Pentecostal Church in Manila. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Pentecostal Church in Manila with Pastor Robert White officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery.
