Terry Wayne 'T-Wayne' Davis

Mr. Terry Wayne "T-Wayne" Davis, 47, of Blytheville, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born in Blytheville, he was the son of James Willie Davis Sr. and Mrs. Vennie Carpenter Davis. His father preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Blytheville High School and had earned two associate degrees from Arkansas Northeastern College (formerly MCCC). He had been a tutor at ANC and was a substitute teacher in the Blytheville School District. He had also been an employee of Great River Medical Center.

He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and had served as a member of the Finance Committee.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Vennie Jones of Blytheville;

A son, Darrius J. Burton of Warner Robbins, Ga.,

Nine sisters, Mrs. Ellen (and Rev. M.L.) Smith of Gosnell, Mrs. Billie (and James) Brown, Mrs. Jeanette (and Charles) Nolden, Ms. Linda Davis, Mrs. Peggy (and Dexter) Anderson, and Mrs. Verniece Webb, all of Blytheville, Mrs. Bobbie (and Rev. Jonathan) Platt of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Martha (and Ronnie) Thomas of Memphis, and Mrs. Debra (and Reed) Wheeler of Hannibal, Mo.;

Four brothers, Willie James Davis Jr. of Blytheville, Joseph (and Yolanda) Carpenter-Davis of Fort Washington, Md., Bishop Roy N. (and Lisa) Davis and Sammy (and Willia) Davis, all of Memphis;

His paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel M. Davis of Greenwood, Miss.;

His girlfriend, Ms. Rebecca Knox of Blytheville; and

Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 920 S. Lake St. in Blytheville. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Prince of Peace Church, 501. E. McHaney Drive in Blytheville, where the Rev. Timothy Rogers is pastor. Bishop Theodis Rucker will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with arrangements by McDonald-Horne Funeral Home of Blytheville.
