Michael Barry Riddick

Michael Barry Riddick Sr., 59, of Steele, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his home.

He was born to the late L.A. "Mike" and Lilla Wingfield on April 8, 1954, in Hayti, Mo. Barry was a 1972 graduate of South Pemiscot High School. He served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He married Teresa Briley Riddick on July 15, 1980.

Barry was a lifelong farmer and the owner/operator of Barry Riddick Trucking. He enjoyed working on equipment in his shop and was always there to lend a hand when someone needed help. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Steele and served 15 years as a member of the South Pemiscot School Board, serving two years as president.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Joy Riddick, and his brother, Lewis Riddick.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Riddick of the home;

One daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Jay Wolfe of St. Louis;

One son and daughter-in-law, Michael "B.J." and Mallory Riddick of Steele;

One grandson, Keegan Riddick;

Two granddaughters, Briley and Kiley Wolfe; and

Two sisters, Patti Poole of Olive Branch, Miss., and Joan Griggs of Steele.

The family received visitors Wednesday at John. W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Funeral services were Thursday at First Baptist Church in Steele, with Bro. Michael Funderburk officiating. Burrial followed at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.

Pallbearers were Nogi McDaniel, Dustin Crawford, Earl Carter, Josh Yarbrough, David Perry Sr. and David Perry Jr.
