Pauline Williams

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Pauline Williams was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Osceola. Her parents, George Woodson and Addie Hall, preceded her in death. She confessed a hope in Christ at the age of 18 at the Zion Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Preston.

Upon moving to town, she later became a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, but later moved her membership to the Bethlehem M.B. Church for convenience of its close proximity to her home.

In 2006, she returned to Pilgrim Rest and remained a faithful member until her transition from earth to eternity. During her lifetime, she served in ministry as an usher, choir member and lastly, a mother of the church.

She worked as a domestic worker to support her family until her health limited her mobility. She was a devoted mother to her three children (Deloris and Willie Mae Williams preceded her in death) and a caring grandmother to her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Stanley (and Denise) Williams, of Osceola;

One step-son, Jerry (and Catherine) Brown; and

Nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She will be remembered for her strength, tenacity and boldness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. An online guest book is available at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com
