Mary Ruth Ford

Mary Ruth Ford, 93, of Leachville, widow of Shelby Eugene Ford, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born May 16, 1920, at Thayer, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Tom and Ada Horton Ellison, had lived most of her life in the Leachville area, and had attended the New Providence Baptist Church in the Buckeye community.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ford; a stepson, Gene Ford; a stepdaughter, Frances Bounds; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Don Ford of Leachville and Carl Ford of Buckeye; three daughters, Shirley Larimer of Paragould, Linda Hamilton of Leachville and Bertha Dandridge of Memphis; one sister, Bessie Cook of Pocahontas; 46 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Allen Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
