Annie Lucille Terry Morris

Our beloved mother, Lucille Morris, 91, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at her home in Desoto, Texas. She was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Belden, Miss., the daughter of R.W. Terry and Annie Terry. Lucille and her husband, Samuel A.(Gus) Morris farmed in the Double Bridges Community in Mississippi County for more than 55 years. She was a member of Luxora First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by three brothers, Morris Terry, Doyle Terry and Robert Terry; four sisters, Vera Hill, Margaret McFadden, Christine Patterson and Gene Paschel; her husband of 62 years, Gus Morris; and her son, Dr. Michael Morris.

She is survived by her children, Linda Bass of Desoto, Texas, David and Aleda Morris of Rogers and Owen Morris of Jackson, Miss.;

Ten grandchildren, Lisa Brown, Donna Dillard, Robin Stanford, David Morris Jr., Jennifer Morris Davis, Melanie Morris, James Morris, Will Morris, Amanda Dunahoo and Gus Morris III;

Fourteen great-grandchildren;

Six great-great-grandchildren; and

Her dear sister-in-law, Retta Terry of Heber Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Luxora with the the Rev. Jackie Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Blytheville with Faith Funeral Service of Manila in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Luxora.
