Richard Harold 'Sarge' Daniels

Richard Harold "Sarge" Daniels, 78, of Jonesboro, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at his residence. He was born June 4, 1935, in Blytheville to Alex and Louella Daniels. He was retired from the U.S. Army where he served tours in Vietnam, Germany and Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Louella Daniels; and a brother, James Clay Daniels.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Kujuva Daniels of the home;

Three sons, Ron and Ricky Daniels both of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Jerry Orienti of Romeoville, Ill.;

Four daughters Mickie Ann Daniels of Elizabethtown, Ky., Lynette Caravelho of Plano, Texas, and Susan Hock and Patti Orienti, both of Villa Park, Ill;

Five sisters Betty (and J.D.) Geer of Brookland, Donna Jo (and Carroll) Mills of Jonesboro, Jackie (and Johnnie) Overton of Blytheville, Mickey Daniels of Beech Grove, and Sandra (and Keith) Klemm of Melrose Park, Ill.;

Four brothers David (and Darlene) Daniels of Brookland, Bo (and Shirley) Daniels of Jonesboro, John (and Christine) Daniels of Maple Park, Ill., and Gene Daniels of Beech Grove, Ill.;

Ten nieces;

Ten nephews; and

Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pine Log Cemetery with Pastor Denny Beavers officiating. Military will serve as pallbearers.
