Mrs. Essie Mae Taylor, 102, of Osceola, died recently at South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center in Osceola. Born Nov. 22, 1910, in Montgomery, Ala., she was a homemaker and a member of Grace Temple, where she served on the Motherboard and as an usher and treasurer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Park and Estella Cartwright; her husband Willie Taylor; two daughters; a sister, Bertha Sanders; and brothers Spencer Stevenson, Aaron Cartwright and Arthur Cartwright.

Mrs. Taylor leaves two sons, David Darkins and Alex James of Osceola; and

Eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Billy Driver, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Temple in Osceola. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery.
