Barbara Jean Morris

Barbara Jean Morris, 81, of Leachville passed from this life Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born July 21, 1932, in Flint, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Ethel Rouse Doherty and was raised in the Buckeye community. She was the widow of Eugene Morris, a member of the New Providence Baptist Church, and had lived most of her life in the Manila and Leachville areas.

Survivors include four sons, Levie Morris, Clifton Morris, John Morris and Calvin Morris, all of Leachville; two daughters, Linda Ford of Leachville and Amanda Harvey of Monette; two brothers, States Skipper of Ozark, Mo., and Donald Simpkins of Paragould; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Griffin, Donnie Ford, Thurman Boatman, Bruce McComas, Steve Albrecht and Anthony Morris.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
