Marvin Eugene Uphold

Marvin Eugene Uphold, 63 of Monette, passed away Sept. 8, 2013, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born May 11, 1950, in Alton, Ill., he was the son of the late Cecil and Betty Hamilton Uphold, Sr. Mr. Uphold enjoyed fishing and riding his John Deere tractor.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Uphold of the home; one son, Robert Uphold of Perry, Ill.; one daughter, Michelle Flowers of Perry, Ill.; one granddaughter, Milee Flowers of Perry, Ill.; one brother, Cecil Uphold, Jr. of Alton, Ill.; one sister, Joyce Herrin of Wood River, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Laura Martin of Brighton, Ill., and Katy Alexander of Monette; one stepson, David Croquart, Jr. of Manila; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two on the way; and his dog Ruby. Mr. Uphold also leaves a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his birth mother, Lola Wahl, and his first wife and mother of his children, Linda Rose Uphold.

The family has requested a private service and disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.
