Talmadge Billingsley, 92, a resident of St. Elizabeth's Place, Jonesboro, formerly of Paragould, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Mrs. Billingsley was born March 25, 1921, in Jacksboro, Texas, and was a member of 7th and Mueller Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, a beautician in Leachville, and owned/operated grocery stores near Delaplaine and on Harrisburg Road in Jonesboro.

Her six girls were the light of her life, and all of her daughters graduated from Leachville High School. She was a former resident of the Paragould Mini Rise, and loved quilting, gardening, and caring for others.

Survivors include five daughters, Fern Ward (Norman) of Jefferson City, Mo., Faye Rowzie (Daniel) of Charles Town, W. Vir., Kaye Davison (Sam) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jackie Botts (Bill) of Jonesboro and Holly Dunn (Robert) of Allen, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters, Marian Mangrum (Thaddeus) of Jonesboro, June Harvill (Charles) of Paragould; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Billingsley; her parents, Marion and Bertha Welch; one daughter, Linda Jean Billingsley; three brothers, Titus Welch, Charles Welch and Maurice Welch; and three sisters, Drusilla Bowlin, Irawauna Haun and Lenora Smith.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House would be appreciated.
