Mrs. Aletta Faye Rose, 77, of Leachville, passed from this life Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born int Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Vernon "Cotton" and Johnnie Jackson Barnes and was a 1954 graduate of Arbyrd High School.

She had been a Leachville resident for most of her life and worked many years at the former Brown Shoe Company in Leachville. She and her late husband of 55 years, Mr. Floyd Rose, owned and operated Rose's Grocery for several years where she was known and loved by countless customers for her wonderful cooking, and above all, her kind and gracious spirit.

Aletta's desire in life was to love her Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. She served her Lord and Savior for many years at the Second Baptist Church in Leachville through teaching and loving children of all ages, and loving and feeding pastors and their families. She gave freely of her resources, time and of herself to friends, neighbors, and often times, strangers. For the past four years she had worshipped at the First Baptist Church, where she attended the Rebecca Sunday School Class with her treasured friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two great-granddaughters, Adalyn Faith Rose, daughter of Jonas and Kortnie Rose, and an angel baby daughter of Josh and Lindsey Rose.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Connie Rose of Jonesboro and Randy and Terry Rose of Leachville;

Three brothers, Bill Barnes and his wife, Masako, of Kennewick, Wash., Larry Barnes and his wife, Glenda, of Paragould, and Garry Barnes and his wife, Carrie, of Pocahonta;

Her sister, Callie Walker and her husband, Danny, of Bay;

Five grandchildren, Josh and Lindsey Rose of Jonesboro, Allison and Mark Tribble of Bono, Jordan Rose of Fayetteville, Melanie and Jason Hicks of Paragould, Jonas and Kortnie Rose of Leachville; and

Eight great-grandchildren, Hannah and Claire Rose, Brianna and Landon Tribble, Grason, Ethan, and Harmonie Hicks, and Kennedy Rose.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Leachville with the Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Pallbearers will be Robert Clowers, Johnny Thomas, Ed Dempsey, Tommy Eldried, Bud Parker, and David Beigle. Guests may register at www.HowardFuneralService.com
