Imogene 'Jean' Cottrell

Imogene "Jean" Cottrell, 83, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, July 14, 2013, at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Born in Caruthersville, Mo., to Leonard and Ada Smith Murphy, she was a homemaker and a member of the Dell Methodist Church.

Mrs. Cottrell enjoyed playing sports; in her younger years she loved to bowl and play softball. She also traveled the world with her husband while he served in the Air Force.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Inez Russom, Dorothy Champion and Charlene Powell, and her brother, Leonard Murphy Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Harold G. Cottrell of Blytheville; and

Many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Marilyn Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville. The family will receive visitors from noon until service time Thursday. Condolences may be made at cobbfuneralhome.com
