Mr. Marvin L. White, 90, of Gosnell, passed from this life Sunday, April 28, 2013, at his home.

Born in Scottsville, Tenn., to Noel and Mittie McClanahan White, he was a retired farmer and a member of Yarbro Baptist Church. Marvin served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and during World War II. He worked at AirCap in Okolona, Miss., enjoyed fishing, hunting, college football and basketball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved going to church and when his vision failed, he enjoyed listening to preachers on TV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Green White; a daughter, Lisa White; and four brothers, Floyd White, Fred White, Vernal White and Harold White.

Marvin is survived by his sisters, Inez McCormick and husband, J.A., of Blytheville, and Ruby Friscioni and husband, Geno, of Tampa, Fla.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Skaggs officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
