Bobby Gene Smith, 82, of Leachville, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his home. Born at Leachville, he was the son of the late McKinley and Irene Thompson Smith and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a retired farmer and plumber, a longtime member of the Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Veda McDonald, and two brothers, M.C. Smith and Pete Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Master Smith of the home; two sons, Greg W. Smith and wife Shirley of Manila and Steve Smith and wife Norma Jean of Marion, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Hutchings of Converse, Ind. one stepdaughter, Janice King and husband Kenneth of Leachville. He also leaves five grandchildren, Amie Smith, Travis Smith, Robert Smith, Nicholas Smith and Alyssa Smith, and four great-grandchildren, Tristan Smith, Stephen Smith, Chloe Smith and Keaton Smith.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Bill Goode and Rev. Larry Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Pruett's Cemetery near Paragould.

The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
