Alva 'Albert' Turner

Mr. Alva "Albert" Turner, 68, of Lepanto, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree. Born April 17, 1945, in Desoto County, he was a retired ginner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Turner and Nancey Turner; and six brothers.

Mr. Turner leaves his significant other, Delores Woods of Lepanto;

His step-mother, Ethel Turner of Chicago;

Five daughters, Carolyn Turner of Marked Tree, Shakia (and Kenneth) Young of Jonesboro, Tammy Turner and Marsha Woods of Lepanto, and Kissy Turner of Memphis;

Two sons, Steven Rogers and Albert (and Tamela) Turner Jr. of Jonesboro;

Seven sisters, Merdis Turner, Evette Lundin, Ethel Mae Cotton, Willa Turner, and Georgia Turner, all of Chicago, Ceola Dixion of Florida, and Gloria Bailey of Blue Island;

One brother, Ben Turner of Chicago; and

Nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Larrie Bell, will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Pine Rest in Lepanto.
