Mr. Authur Smith Sr., 53 of Luxora, passed away March 25, 2013, in Jonesboro. Authur Charles Smith Sr., or "Cheese" as he was known, was born to the union of the late Eddie Sr. and Lula Mae Smith Oct. 29, 1959, in Osceola.

After the passing of his father Eddie Sr., Authur Sr. had to learn the importance of hard work and sacrifice at a young age. It was because of this that, under the guidance of the Lord, he developed the drive to provide, lead, and support his family.

Authur "Cheese" Sr. worked in various capacities throughout his life. These professions would include but not be limited to Fruit of The Loom in Osceola, Creative Foods in Osceola, the Arkansas Highway Department, and his favorite, the Luxora Fire Department where he served a term as Fire Chief.

Authur Sr. was married to Carolyn Deloris Talley-Smith and together they raised seven children. She precedes him in his passing. Authur Sr. was a dedicated and determined man who during his lifetime confessed boldly his love and acceptance of Christ and would share the gospel to any who would listen, whether they wanted to hear or not.

"Cheese" was an outgoing and jovial man.

Authur leaves to celebrate his life, two brothers, Eddie Walter Smith Jr. of Little Rock and Melvin Lee (and Vanessa) Smith of Luxora;

Three sisters, Shirley Blair of Blytheville, Viola Smith Miller of Forrest City, Barbara Jean Johnson of Forrest City;

Luxora, and his only son, Authur C. Smith Jr. of Little Rock;
