Carol Veach Jehlen

Carol Veach Jehlen, 55, a resident of Russellville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. She was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Blytheville, Ark., to Freddie and Janice Veach. She was a teacher, having taught head start through sixth grade at several schools, including Western Yell, Manila, Leachville and most recently at Dover Elementary School where she taught fourth grade. She was a member of the National Writing Project and the Manila First Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, especially jewelry making and painting. She loved her family very much and loved spending time with them, especially her three grandsons. She has touched the lives of countless people, always putting others first.

She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, John Jehlen in 2010.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jessica Morris of Russellville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lindi and Mike Wade of Jonesboro and Jordan Blakely Jehlen of Guy; her mother, Janice Veach of Manila; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Michelle Veach and Robbie and Vivie Veach, all of Lost Cane; three grandchildren, Hayden Wade of Jonesboro and Drake and Brody Morris both of Russellville; five nephews and nieces, Kristin Thompson, Whitney Gist, Katie Pearson, Hunter Veach and Shelby Veach; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Phillip C. Collie II officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Veach, Aaron Gist, Van Thompson, Rodney Bell, Zach Pearson and Roland Morris.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
