Henry Clay Hornbuckle

Mr. Henry Clay Hornbuckle was born March 13, 1925, at Dalby Springs, Texas, to Willis and Verdie Mae Hornbuckle.

On December 24, 1949, he married Tressie Rose Bilton, who survives at the home.

Mr. Hornbuckle served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Mr. Hornbuckle was an ordained Baptist Minister and preached the Gospel for over 30 years. He also taught school at Gosnell Elementary for 22 years.

Mr. Hornbuckle was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Verdie Mae Hornbuckle; two brothers, Charlie Hornbuckle and Johnny Hornbuckle; and three sisters, Lola Puckett, Alice Cross and Ruth Hazelwood.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Tressie Hornbuckle;

Two daughters, Beverly Foster and husband, Dwight Foster, of Palestine, Texas, and Kathy Fincher and husband, Keith Fincher, of Kennett, Mo.;

His grandchildren, Nicole Cannon and husband, Russell Cannon, of Neches, Texas, Nathan Pritchett and wife, Haley, of Trenton, Il., Brittany Geohagan and husband, Ashley Geohagan, of Kennett, and Haley Fincher, also of Kennett;

His great-grandchildren, Chase Cannon of Neches, Texas, Clayton Pritchett of Trenton, Ill., Dawson Geohagan of Kennett, and Skylar Pritchett of Trenton, Ill.;

Two brothers, Robert Hornbuckle and wife, Pat Hornbuckle, of Tyler, Texas, and James Hornbuckle and wife, Ann Hornbuckle, of Odessa, Texas; and

Many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers will be Nathan Pritchett, Ashley Geohagan, Chase Cannon, Shane Hornbuckle, Gary Figgins and Dennis Gestring. Honorary pallbearers are Clayton Pritchett, Dawson Geohagan, James Geohagan and Bob Holder.
