Shirley Jean Dedrick

Mrs. Shirley Jean Dedrick, formerly of Blytheville, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. Born Aug. 5, 1949, to Estoria Dedrick and the late L.C. Dedrick, she was an Honor Roll graduate at Richard B. Harrison High School in 1967. She worked for Southwestern Bell before relocating to Atlanta, Ga., in 1979 where she worked for AT&T for 22 years as a phone operator before retiring. She graduated from Fellowship Christian Center's School of Ministry in 2009, and was tremendously enriched and most fulfilled by this accomplishment.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Esther Walters.

Mrs Dedrick leaves two sons, Steven Dedrick of Germany and Elandre Dedrick of New York;

Four sisters, Garnell Collins and Anne Mathis both of Kansas City, Mo., Juliette Thomas of Jackson, Miss., and Faye Anderson of Atlanta;

One brother, Paul Christian of Tacoma, Wash.;

Her cousins, Gene and JoAnn Henton of Blytheville; and

A host of nieces and nephews.

Services were held Feb. 21 at Levett Funeral Home in Conyers, Ga. Interment followed at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, Ga. Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville was in charge of handling the obituary.
