Everlean Johnson

Mrs. Everlean Johnson was born Aug. 18, 1906, to William and Rosie Lee Butler in Estell, Miss. She departed her life Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Great River Medical Center, Blytheville.

Mrs. Everlean enjoyed quilting, fishing and going to programs to listen to her children and grandchildren sing. She was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church of Gobler, Mo., where she served on the mother board under the leadership of Pastor Larry Guyton.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, William and Rosie Lee Butler; and four children, Clarence Brown, Rosie Lee Johnson, Robert Lee Johnson and Willie Lee Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Willie James Johnson (and Paula) of Saginaw, Mich., Henry Lee Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Issac Johnson (and Denise) of Kennett, Mo., and R.L. Johnson of Blytheville;

Two daughters, Loucille Reese of New Bird, N.Y., and Minnie Lee Johnson of Blytheville;

A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and

A granddaughter, Deloris Nelson (and Rick) of Memphis, whom she raised as a daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Spiritual Temple, 1917 West Vine St. in Blytheville, with Pastor Larry Guyton officiating. The family will receive visitors from noon-2 p.m. at the church with funeral services following directly behind. Burial with follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
