Julia Carol Baker, 78, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. She was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Lexington, Miss., to the late Henry and Ella Medlin. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Osceola. She enjoyed gardening and her flower beds.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Baker; a daughter, Cindy Baker; a brother, Bobby Medlin; and two sisters, Betty Lively and Margaret Anderson.

She is survived by her children, James Baker of Austin, Texas, Johnny Baker of Blytheville, Robert Baker, Jimmy Baker and Richard Baker, all of Osceola, Kathy Jeffries of Blytheville, Bertha Humble of Manila and Carol Baker of Jonesboro;

A brother, Clarence Medlin of Lake City;

Two sisters, Claire Rush of Jonesboro and Sally Bullough of Blytheville; and

Seventeen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Monette Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Jay Weaver officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
