Stephen Dale 'Steve' Rush

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Mr. Stephen Dale "Steve" Rush, 36, of Manila died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in Manila. Born to Michael and Joyce Rush in Hayti, Mo., he was a lifelong area resident, of the Baptist faith and was a heavy equipment operator at Harsco Metals.

Steve had a tremendous work ethic which was driven by the responsibility and love he had to provide for his family. His deep family values were evident in his children. Steve's relationship with his children was special. Though he couldn't be with them as much as he wanted, the time spent with Lauren, "Daddy's Girl" and Dalton, "Best Friend" was priceless.

Steve will be well remembered for his humorous and funny personality that seemed to touch each person with whom he came in contact. He was also a very dedicated son to his mother. No matter what the situation, he was a loving son who never forgot the person who taught him so much about being responsible and devoted.

After the death of his father, John entered into Steve's life and took him under his wing, helping guide and nurture him toward becoming the man he was.

The greatest and most profound change in Steve occurred 20 years ago when Angela came into his life. The vows he took with Angela were his first steps toward a fruitful, loving and fulfilling marriage. Together Steve and Angela did all they possibly could to ensure commitment, honor, guidance, love and responsibility to their family.

Somewhere in the midst of all the responsibility he found the time to have some "good ole times" with family and friends, especially his Angela.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lynn Rush; and Don Larkin, his father-in-law.

Steve is survived by his wife, Angela Kay Larkin Rush of the home;
