Lando Thurl McSpadden

Mr. Lando Thurl McSpadden, 91, of Hot Springs, formerly of Blytheville, passed from this life Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Ark., Feb. 15, 1921, he was a son to Lando Luther and Bessie Anges Hull McSpadden.

Mr. McSpadden obtained his Law Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1950. He was Vice President of Legal Council for ARK-MO Power Company and President and Legal Council for Associated Natural Gas from 1961 to 1986. Mr. McSpadden was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp., having served from 1942 until 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Madeline McSpadden; and a brother Noel McSpadden.

Survivors include his sons, Bruce Elliot McSpadden and wife, Susan, of Conway, and Craig Alan McSpadden and wife, Donna, of Scottsdale, Ariz.;

A daughter, Anne Marie McSpadden of Memphis;

His grandchildren, Summer Mabry, Jonathan McSpadden, Mallory McSpadden and Alan McSpadden; and

A sister, Virginia Bell of Birmingham, Ala.

Graveside services, under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home, will be held at 10 Saturday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, with the Rev. David Wilson officiating.
